Can I complete my switch fully online?

Yes. One Click Switch helps you compare plans and arrange the switch online. We help you compare available plans and arrange the switch for you without annoying phone calls.

Am I able to switch energy providers anytime?

+

Yes. You can switch online whenever it suits you. Most people know they could be saving on their energy bill, but put it off because it feels like another life admin task.

How long does it take to switch energy providers?

+

It takes around 5 minutes to submit your request online. Once submitted, the actual cutover takes between 2 and 10 business days.

Do I need to contact my old provider?

+

No. Once you switch, your new provider will contact and notify your old provider. You don’t need to call, cancel or have any awkward conversations.

What happens when I submit the order form? Does it automatically switch?

+

Once you submit, we automatically send your request to the new provider and notify your old provider for you. You don't need to do anything else. While the request is immediate, the actual "cutover" (when your plan officially changes) takes between 2 and 10 business days. You will receive a welcome pack from the new provider confirming the start date.

What happens if I change my mind after submitting a switch request?

+

You have a 10-day cooling-off period where you can cancel your switch request at no cost by contacting the new provider or One Click Switch.

What is Consumer Data Right, and why do you use it?

Consumer Data Right (CDR) is an Australian Government initiative that gives you the right to safely share your data with trusted, accredited providers - if you choose to. In energy, CDR allows you to securely share your electricity usage data for a specific purpose, with full control and the ability to withdraw consent at any time. You never share your password, and you’re always redirected to your existing energy provider to approve access.

What data do you access and what is the benefit of doing this?

+

We access your usage, account and meter information from your provider in order to calculate personalised usage estimates. CDR lets us compare plans using your real numbers, while most comparison sites rely on reference prices or broad averages. Reference prices assume an “average” household - but most households aren’t average.

Who is Fiskil?

+

Fiskil is an accredited Consumer Data Right data provider regulated by the ACCC and Data Standards Body. They specialise in securely connecting consumers to energy providers under Australia’s CDR framework. They are independently accredited under CDR and meet strict security and privacy requirements.

Why do you need my email and how does consent work?

+

Most retailers will require the email address associated with your energy account to manage your consent. Somemay require the mobile number or account number. They'll then send you a One-Time Password (OTP) which you'll need to enter, which authorises us to access your usage history. We will never ask for your energy account password.

One Click Switch only requests consent for up to 20 minutes. In most cases, it will take no more than 2 minutes to connect to your provider and access your historical usage data. Once consent is automatically revoked after 20 minutes, we can no longer access your energy data without your consent again.

Do I have to connect via CDR? Are there alternative methods?

+

It’s completely optional. If you prefer, you can still compare plans using a recent bill upload, enter usage details manually, or the quick estimate method.

These options work, but they’re usually less accurate, based on shorter snapshots of data, and are harder to model for different tariff types. CDR is simply the best way to see personalised price estimates based on your historical usage.

Are there hidden costs to switch?

No. There are no costs to use the One Click Switch service to switch your electricity or gas provider.

Is this service really free?

+

Yes, the service is 100% free for you to use. We are paid a referral fee by the energy provider when you switch through us. This does not affect the price you pay or the plans available to you.

Will I be charged a fee if I leave my new plan?

+

No. All plans listed on our platform have no exit fees and no lock-in contracts, giving you the freedom to switch again if you need to.

What happens to my upcoming bill from my old provider?

+

You remain with your old provider until the official cutover date. You will receive one final bill from them covering your energy usage up to that day. After that, your billing will switch over to the new provider.

Who is BeMoved? How is it related to One Click Switch?

+

BeMoved Pty Ltd is the Australian company that owns and operates One Click Switch. One Click Switch is a specialised full-digital experience that BeMoved uses to handle energy comparisons and connections virtually and seamlessly without having to take a phone call.

Can I switch both electricity and gas?

Yes. You can switch both at the same time. You can even choose different providers for gas and electricity if that gets you the best deal.

Can I use different providers for electricty and gas?

+

Yes, absolutely. You can choose the same or different providers for electricity and gas when going through the switch flow.

How are the plans ordered? Do you promote certain plans?

+

We do not play favourites or offer sponsored plans. Plans are initially ranked from cheapest to most expensive to show you the lowest prices first.

If I submit a switch request, will I be locked into a contract?

+

No. All of the plans shown on the platform have no exit fees and no lock-in contracts.

What is a "Smart Meter" vs. a "Basic Meter"?

A Smart Meter is digital and records usage every 30 minutes for accurate, monthly bills. A Basic (Analogue) Meter usually has a spinning dial and is read manually every 3 months. Knowing which you have ensures accurate quotes.

Where does electricity in Australia come from?

+

Regardless of which provider you choose, your electricity comes from the same main grid (generated by coal, wind, and hydro). Retailers simply buy it from the distributor and sell it to you.

What if I have solar panels?

+

You can still switch! When you connect via CDR , we incorporate your solar export and calculate the estimated cost of plans on our platform based on your historical energy use. It's the most accurate way to see how much you'll pay, and save.

I have a battery system. How does that work with switching?

+

If you have a battery, you store excess solar energy to use when the sun isn't shining. You can still switch providers to find a plan that complements your lower reliance on the grid.
